I am a retired sister meeting in the local church. I have been a Christian for 53 years now and 23 of those years have been in the local church. I found the Lord real and living in the church, not just in Spirit but in practicality too. We found such sweet fellowship with the brothers and sisters and their care for one another.

We met the church through our daughter, who met the church in New Zealand and told us about it. I was not happy where we were meeting, and with the Word urging me to know Him (Phil. 3:10), we visited the local church. Upon hearing Witness Lee’s ministry, my spirit witnessed that this is the present-day truth that every believer should hear. Through this ministry I learned there is only one Body of Christ, not a lot of conflicting religious concepts and doctrines. When we visited the local church, I heard the brothers and sisters worshipping the same God that I knew and loved, the one God who created all things and is the reality of all things. This ministry was food to me, just as the Bible tells us that Jesus is the bread of life and the water of life. This ministry revealed to me that Christ is the Head and center of all things to the church. The center is Christ, not a man. Christ was revealed in a greater way than I had ever known. I thought I was just saved to go to heaven, but I found there was something more—He wants to live in us and through us, because He wants us to have His life and nature, but not His deity, in order to live to express Him.

Through Witness Lee’s ministry the Word has taken on a new meaning to me. The depth of His ministry was beyond what I had heard in organized religion and was centered on Christ. This ministry has caused me to grow in the Lord, not to live only by knowledge of the Word but by the Spirit of Christ, because Christ is my life and real enjoyment.
